The District have announced a new Call of Duty 4 competition, appropriately named "New Hope". The tournament will run across the 27th to the 28th April and will feature a maximum prize pool of €5,000 for a forty team event.

The 2013 LAN calendar is quickly starting to fill up for Call of Duty 4, seeing multiple events pop up during recent weeks. It was over the weekend though that one of the first Turn up and Play competitions of the year was announced, seeing a possible prize pool of €5,000 for a forty team attendance. Hosted at the District Prague, a brand new venue designed for esports orientated competition, it is the perfect setting for a new an exciting event for the Call of Duty community.

To take part in the competition you will need to purchase a €250 team ticket, although €100 deposits are also available for those that cannot gather the full sum immediately. The registration and payment form is expected to become available soon, although the organisers are allowing a direct bank transfer (see here) for those who are eager to secure their spot.

Although the prize money is currently set, the organisers have stated that additional funding is about to be confirmed. You can find the prize triggers below:

The PC's themselves will be compromised of Intel Core i5 3750k processors, 8GB 1600MHz RAM and Gigabyte nVidea GTX660 Ti 2GB graphic cards. However despite the good specifications recent drama has ensued after the community was made aware that the screens that will be used at the event, EIZO FORIS F2333's, operate at 60Hz. These are the very same screens as seen at the EIZO Open, Dreamhack.

Despite the technical hiccups the event is set to be a beacon for the Call of Duty community, seeing many of the usual excuses being eliminated by the initial tournament unveiling. You can find additional information on the event by clicking here.
